It has not been a year wrapped in glory for my baby. Iona won the regular season crown at 12-6 to finish the year at 14-15 overall. Yeah, it’s been that kind of year for the league that is 28th in KenPom conference rankings. Iona enters the tournament on a 7 game winning streak, so something has clicked for Tim Cluess crew. They are 218ty in KenPom.
4 teams finished 11-7 in league play. Canisius is the 2-seed (273rd in KenPom), Quinnipiac is the 3-seed (225th in KenPom), Rider is the 4-seed (212th in KenPom) and Siena is the 5-seed (225th in KenPom).
Monmouth is the 6-seed and finished 10-8 in league but 11-20 overall. It’s pretty grim.
The Pick: Iona - I am picking the Gaels but they could very well get dumped by the Rider/Siena winner in the semi-finals. Whoever wins, this is 16-seed territory
