Tonight's Bubble Action

Tonight is a big night for a lot of teams.  A large majority of the bubble teams are in action.  Let’s start with the breakdowns

Tennessee vs LSU – LSU is close to lock status but it’s best to hold court at home.  Currently a 9 seed.

Purdue vs Michigan State – The Spartans are probably a lock as a 9 seed but Purdue is currently our last team in.  A road win would give their resume a bit more heft

Colorado St vs Nevada – a classic no win situation for the Rams; a loss would be devastating.  They are a 10 right now but can easily be caught by a bunch of other teams

Boise State vs San Jose – Boise is just in front of Purdue.  If they lose to San Jose is might be the worst team in Division 1 they don’t deserve to get a bid.

Oregon vs Oregon State – Rivalry games can be tricky, especially on the road.  Oregon sits at a 10 and a road loss won’t drop them out.

USC vs UCLA – see Oregon-Oregon State except UCLA has no room for error.  A loss will drop them out as they are the right on the cusp of the play in game

TCU vs Oklahoma State – I have Okie St as a 10 while others have them higher.  Yes, they play in a tough conference and have a ton of top 50 RPI wins, however, they are on a 4 game losing streak and need to right that ship now.

Cincinnati vs Tulsa – Cincy is a solid 9 but Tulsa I have as one of my First Four Out.  Lunardi and Palm have them as an 11 but I don’t see them that safe.  A win tonight probably gives them enough to push out one of the Last Four in.

Nebraska vs Illinois – Illinois is one of the First Four out and need to win here to stay in the conversation.  I don’t think a win gets them in but a loss definitely drops them to the Next Four Out and maybe out of conversation completely.

Old Dominion vs Marshall – ODU is the last team we are tracking and has no room for another loss.

Miami vs Pittsburgh – a battle of two teams in our Next Four Out group.  The winner hangs around, the loser probably needs a deep ACC Tournament run
