Mid-Major Chaos

Tonight, UNC-Wilmington upset Hofstra to win the Colonial and Iona upset Monmouth in a fun MAAC title game. Both are capable of pulling an upset next week, though I think UNC-Wilmington is a year away from being a problem.

I'll be curious to see where Brian slots Iona. They're 77th in KenPom and have two outstanding players in AJ English and Jordan Washington. English will probably play in the Association and went for 20/5/5 this year.

The Horizon appears to be giving us a shocker, too. UWGB is about to upset Valpo. In Brian's latest mock, Valpo was an 11. Can they still make it? KenPom's top defense will sweat it out.

Monmouth was a 10-seed in the latest mock. I think they've earned a spot but I don't trust the committee to keep out a Power 5 school in favor of a mid-major despite what they say. Monmouth did all they could and came up 3 points short against a really good team in their conference final. Them or LSU?  I know which one actually earned it.
