The Valley

This hasn't been a great year for the Missouri Valley. They lost Creighton and Indiana State underperformed. Only two teams break the KenPom Top 100.

Oh, they have Wichita State and could be the home of the National Champion.

The Valley Tournament is known as Arch Madness played in St. Louis from March 6-9. Wichita State is the prohibitive favorite. I'd guess Northern Iowa or Indiana State would be potential bid thieves.

Final Standings:

1. Wichita State, 18-0 (31-0), 6th KenPom

2. Indiana State, 12-6 (21-9). 108th KenPom

3. Northern Iowa, 10-8 (16-14), 93rd KenPom

Every other member was .500 or worse in conference play.

Indiana State was seen as a possible at-large or even conference champ before the season but never really got untrack. They're talented enough to steal a bid, though led by senior guards Jake Odum and Manny Arop.

Northern Iowa is interesting. Courtesy of KenPom.com MVC tourney preview, Northern Iowa made 40% of its 3-pointers in conference play with 45% of all field goal attempts coming from 3. A hot night and any team, including the Shockers, could be in trouble.
