Georgetown has been steadily moving up the bracket over the last 6 weeks but let’s not forget their early season struggles. Those struggles begin and end on the offensive end and although they’ve been on a tear lately their offensive woes have not really subsided. Otto Porter has been carrying them on his back and an early tournament matchup with a solid offense and at least 1 good man on man defender and I can see Georgetown going down.
Let’s also not forget the Hoyas recent struggles in the tournament. Last year they were upset in the second round as a 3 seed to 11 seeded North Carolina. In 2011 they didn’t even make the 2nd round getting beat as a 6 seed to 11 seeded VCU. 2010 was even worse as they surrendered 97 points to Ohio and lost in a 3 vs 14 battle. It wouldn’t surprise me to see this trend continue in 2013.
