Game 70: VCU 71 Kansas 61, 2011 Elite Eight
VCU continued their magical run to Houston by beating the heavily favored Jayhawks. The Rams jumped out to an early 33-17 lead and despite many KU charges. held on to make their first Final 4.
Game 69: VCU 72 Florida State 71, 2011 Sweet 16
Joey Rodriguez makes a perfect pass to Bradford Burgess on an inbounds play with seconds left and Burgess makes a go-ahead bucket. FSU gets a look at the buzzer but Chris Singleton has his shot blocked by Rod Brandenburg.
Game 68: UAB 76 Kentucky 75, 2004 Second Round
In round 1, UAB outlasted Washington 102-100 in a game that went past midnight. UAB didn't slow down, running up and down the court with overall #1 seed Kentucky. Kentucky took a 1-point lead with :29 left but UAB guard Morris Finley hit a jumper to give the Blazers the lead. Kentucky missed a 3 and tip-in at the buzzer giving UAB the unlikely win.
Game 67: Creighton 83 Florida 82, 2002 First Round
Florida lead most of the game but Creighton G Terrell Taylor hit a pair of late 3's to send the game to overtime. The game went to a second ovt. and the Gators took an 82-78 lead with a minute left. taylor cut it to 2 on a jumper and after a Florida 5-second violation, Taylor hit a buzzer-beating 3 to give Creighton the upset win.
Game 66: Wisconsin 63 Tulsa 62, 2003 Second Round
Tulsa had upset Dayton in round 1 and was primed to do the same to the Badgers in round 2, taking a 58-45 lead into the final TV timeout. Wisconsin chipped away and after forcing a shot clock violation with :12 left and down 2, Wisconsin would get the win at the buzzer on a Freddie Owens 3.
Game 65: Gonzaga 83 Western Kentucky 81, 2009 Second Round
WKU tied the game with 7.2 seconds left but the Bulldogs Demetri Goodson banked in the winner at the buzzer sending Gonzaga back to the Sweet 16 for the 1st time since 2006.
Game 64: Michigan State 60 UWGB 58, 1991 1st Round
Stuck in Mrs. Petri's science class, we were forced to follow somehow, I forget how but we all knew what was happening and it appeared UWGB would win or force overtime. With the game tied at 58, Sparty's Steve Smith buried a jumper as time expired disappointing basketball fans across Wisconsin who at this time needed UWGB to find anyone to cheer on locally who was any good.
Game 63: Morehead State 62 Louisville 61, 2011 1st Round
Louisville lead 61-57 with 1:14 left but Morehead State would win on Demonte Harper's 3 with 4.2 seconds left.
Game 62: CCNY 71 Bradley 68, 1950 Title Game
10 days earlier, CCNY had defeated Bradley in the NIT at MSG. The re-match was held there as well with the same result.
Game 61: Murray State 66 Vanderbilt 65, 2011 1st Round
The game went back-and-forth but at the end, the Racers Danero Thomas would nail a jumper at the buzzer to win the game and extend the Commodores 1st round woes.
