In the article they ask..."was his death preventable". ummmm...yea, don't put unprotected steel poles (not just one, but a series of steel poles, in case you miss the first one) one foot off the track where lugers are going 90 mph. I can't wait to see there fix...my prediction, goal post pads...that will do the trick.

The structure itself has been a concern for quite some time. The same guy who met his demise today, was injured yesterday (Photos available, ghouls!) during a practice run.
Big time lugers and bobsledders (Go deep into the ESPN.com site) have been pretty critical of the set-up. Even better, Canada cut off access prior to the games to gain a home homicide advantage.
Yay, sportsmanship!
