Friday Review

Brian is currently in locations unknown, so here’s a quick recap from Friday and how it pertains to the bracket.

- In Big 14 action, Nebraska got its corn harvested by Michigan and is now NIT bound despite Tim Miles pleas. Don’t blame Tim for fighting for his players but he’s wrong. If they were in a mid-major league, they wouldn’t get a sniff. Penn State stays alive but needs a win over Purdue to be considered.

- We have chaos in the MAAC as the 1 and 2 seeds, Rider and Canisius are heading home after losing in the quarterfinals.

- Oklahoma stopped the bleeding and got a win over Iowa State at home. They still haven’t won away from Norman in this calendar year. Think they’re safe but I’d try and steal a win next week at the Big XII tournament to feel safe.

Today’s Games of Note

- Texas gets a chance to bolster its a resume with a home game against West Virginia. A loss here probably eliminates them from consideration.

- Mississippi State needs a win at LSU or they are probably eliminated from consideration as well.

- Boston College also needs a win at Florida State to stay in consideration. Even with a loss, this season is the first in many to give BC fans some hope.

- Marquette needs to beat Creighton at home today. A loss puts them in the NIT barring a deep run next week at the Garden.

- Keep an eye on Bradley-Loyola today. Bradley has a win over the Ramblers this year and are capable of breaking the hearts of Loyola.

-Utah gets Colorado at home and can’t afford a loss. A win keeps them alive.

-Washington hosts Oregon. A loss can’t happen.

- Notre Dame travels to Virginia. Notre Dame has shown signs of life late in a season they’re trying to save. A win here would be hard to ignore.

- Finally, the OVC puts the first team into the tournament as Belmont takes on Murray State. They’re the two best teams in the league and it should be a real good game
