OC's MM started as a place for a group of college basketball fans in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, to talk about the sport we love — brackets, bubble teams, conference races, coaching, Selection Sunday, bad officiating, questionable committee decisions and everything else that makes college basketball great.
More than 17 years later, we’re apparently still doing it.
The site really comes alive as March approaches. Throughout the season we follow the national picture, argue about who’s actually good, keep an eye on the bubble and eventually turn our attention toward Bracketology — projecting the NCAA Tournament field, seeds, First Four Out and the teams still hanging around the conversation.
Once the tournament starts, all bets are off.
Expect predictions, reactions, busted brackets, overreactions, questionable takes, victory laps, complaints about teams we never trusted in the first place and probably a few opinions that don't age particularly well.
And that's part of the fun.
One of the best things about OCS is the archive. Every season since 2009 is still here, so you can go back and see exactly what we were saying about teams and tournaments at the time — including plenty of evidence that we weren't nearly as smart as we thought we were.
This isn't ESPN. It isn't supposed to be.
It's a long-running conversation between people who love college basketball, preserved one season at a time.
