Again, not a lot of movement in and out of the bracket but
some curious movement within it due to teams playing each other. Buffalo
takes the auto bid from Akron in the MAC due to a higher RPI. Ties for
auto bids always go to the highest RPI. Also, since we are on the topic,
I consider losses being the same so if one team is 8-1 in the conference and
the other is 7-1 I consider it a tie and go to RPI. 8-2 always beats 8-3.
Inside the bracket we had some flip flops based on
conference games. Providence beats Georgetown and trades 1 seed line with
them. Wyoming beats Colorado State so the Rams go to the play in game and
Wyoming to an 11 seed. Oklahoma State beats Texas and they flip
seeds as well.
A curious team to keep an eye on is Davidson who is one of
our Next Four out. They are 14-6 with an RPI of 67 however they are 2-2
without Jack Gibbs. The committee is going to have to take that
into consideration come tourney time.
