9. Arizona- They get the Washington teams this weekend, so barring something silly this afternoon, they'll maintain the Pac-12 lead.
8. Virginia- Averaging 60 possessions a game! As local basketball scribe Jeff Potrykus tweeted yesterday, basketball isn't only about offense and scoring. Not sure how important scoring is but it seems somewhat important.
7. Louisville- Scored 106 against Pitt. At Pitt. Yes, I'm still stunned.
6. Baylor- Keep waiting for a tumble, just isn't happening yet. Big game at Kansas on Wednesday.
5. Kentucky- Losing at Tennessee and at home to Kansas but still a top 5 team? Yeah, it's that kind of year. Malik Monk is the go-to-guy but was a non-factor in the second half yesterday. A lot of good parts but are they lacking a true alpha dog? Monk and Bam Adebayo can be those guys, I think. Still a work in progress.
4. West Virginia- I've seen them more than any other team this year. All over the place during games. Brilliant, sloppy...can make the Final 4 or get dumped by a 15-seed.
3. Kansas- Huge win at Rupp yesterday. Bill Self might be doing his best coaching job. They could have been run off the court in the first half. Landen Lucas was in foul trouble. They didn't make a first half 3. Instead, they took apart Kentucky and won the game. Great split this week after losing at West Virginia.
2. Villanova- Played uncharacteristically sloppy down the stretch at Marquette. I've mentioned they look disinterested at times. Can't just turn focus on. Worth monitoring.
1. Gonzaga- Only team in the KenPom top 10 on both sides of the ball. Doesn't matter they're not getting tested. Those numbers can get killed when playing bad teams and having off nights. Deal with it, America.
