Wow, fluid stuff this morning. Here's what happend in the bracket last night. South Carolina, Penn State, and Virginia Tech all fall out. With little room for improvement they probably won't be able to climb back in but for now they will remain in the discussion. Taking their spots for today at least are Maryland, Creighton, and Temple. Temple is in due to them making the A-10 final. They probably don't have enough for At-Large all though their computer numbers are great (RPI = 39).
As for the overall bubble I figure there are 6 spots still open for discussion. Of the 6 spots, they can be split into 2 categories. 3 are almost locks and the other 3 are wide open. At this point the teams in those two categories are as such:
Almost Locks
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Michigan
Open
Creighton
Maryland
St. Mary's
The Almost locks all took hits yesterday and are not on firm ground anymore. Wisconsin is the biggest loser as their RPI fell to a dangerous 48 and are not as certain as they were yesterday.
The biggest threat to the bubble are Tulsa, Baylor, USC, and Auburn. They are all still alive in their conference tournament and all out at the moment. If they win the auto-bid they will start pushing these bubble teams off. St. Mary's, Creighton and the 3 Big 10 teams can do nothing but watch. Maryland still has today's game against Duke to hang on to.
Lots of movement today. Should be fun.
