With less than 6 weeks until Selection Sunday lets look back at my and Erick’s predictions.   Shockingly our selections were extremely similar:

We both had Duke, Kansas, and Nevada in the Final Four.  Erick had Kentucky while I had Tennessee.  Rounding out our Elite Eight I had his Kentucky along with Gonzaga and North Carolina.  He had my Tennessee with the fore mentioned Zags and Tar Heels.  The only difference in our Final 8 teams were Kansas State (mine) and Villanova (his)

As mentioned we are less than 6 weeks and our picks are looking really good.  Kansas doesn’t look like the threat they were but who could have predicted their injuries.  If they are healthy I’m guessing they are still a national title contender.  Villanova and Kansas State, which were our two reaches are just starting to round into shape.

As for misses right now it only looks to be a glaring Virginia Cavalier team.  Erick seems more bullish on them this year but once again I can’t see this team having enough offense to win back to back 3 weeks in a row.  Outside of them the two Michigan teams appear to be the next possible Final Four teams with Marquette being the long shot.

So far, our predictions aren’t too off but let’s revisit these in two weeks when we are a month out.
