The Committee Seeding Reval

Let’s dive in with the committee seedlings and KenPom numbers

West
1. Gonzaga (1)
2. Duke (10)
3. Illinois (15)
4. Texas (14)

Midwest
1. Auburn (5)
2. Purdue (13)
3. Texas Tech (12)
4. UCLA (11)

East
1. Kansas (6)
2. Kentucky (3)
3. Villanova (8)
4. Wisconsin (34)

South
1. Arizona (2)
2. Baylor (4)
3. Tennessee (9)
4. Providence (45)

Auburn gets rewarded with the region of death. No 1-seed wants to see UCLA on the 4-line.

Providence and Wisconsin have been amongst the luckiest teams in the nation this year, winning a lot of close games. 1-seeds should salivate seeing them on the 4-line as they would be easier Sweet 16 matchups and are more like to be upset in the opening two rounds.

Interestingly, since the seeding reveal began a few years back, no one has won a title that wasn’t a 1-seed in these reveals. The sample size is too small to consider it anything significant, but worth mentioning and monitoring.

Finally, if this were to hold, I’d be pretty tempted to take a flier and bet against Purdue in the 2-15 game.
