Wednesday Updates

Well, most of the teams that needed to win last night lost.  Villanova, Kansas State, Ohio State....

Those team are at this point out of the conversation.

Other big news last night were South Carolina over Tennessee and Georgia Tech over North Carolina.

I understand UNC losing as that's a classic trap game going into duke this weekend.  South Carolina was a surprise and they might just be legit.  LaMont Paris is doing a great job there!

Tonight we have UConn and Purdue in action against Northwestern and Providence, who need to make a big splash.  I think both UConn and Purdue win pulling away.

Lowkey big game is Boise State vs New Mexico.  The Mountain West is deep, real deep but wins are starting to be hard to come by.  I think Boise needs this more than New Mexico.

Tuesday Games

 Not a lot of time for analysis but here are the key games for Tuesday night:

South Carolina at Tennessee - lets see if SC is for real

Illinois at Ohio State - OSU is almost out of the conversation and needs this game

Marquette at Villanova - 'Nova, see Ohio State

Oklahoma at Kansas St - K State is close to OSU as well

Mississippi State vs Mississippi - the SEC is going to start eating itself

San Diego State vs Colorado St - the Rams need to stop the bleeding

There are only 2 games of note Monday night.

Duke @ Virginia Tech - This should be a easy Duke win but they struggle at VaTech

Houston @ Texas - Texas really needs this as they are my last team in this morning.

Sunday Games

 A couple games of note today:

Xavier at Uconn - I was going to write up about Xavier's chance but they are already down 30 in the first half.

North Texas at FAU - FAU cannot afford many losses in conference and must defend home court

Purdue at Rutgers - Purdue should roll but have struggled a bit on the road in conference

Memphis at UAB - The Tigers have not looked good late and UAB isn't an easy win on the road

Nevada at New Mexico - The Mountain West is starting to eat into each other and this is another example.

Saturday Thoughts

 Full late of games yesterday led to a lot of bad losses for some top teams.  In my top top 4 seed lines the following teams all lost:

Kansas to Iowa State to fall to 4-3 in the the Big 12

Auburn for the second time this week

Baylor at home in a triple overtime thriller vs TCU

Dayton at Richmond to give up the auto bid

In addition 3 of my last 4 team in lost including Texas, Boise State, and Villanova.  My guess is all 3 fall out but we will see after today's games

Teams that had great wins include the already mentioned TCU at Baylor and Mississippi State vs Auburn.  Texas Tech continues their great start by winning at Oklahoma.

Duke also got a nice win against Clemson and continues to just get by some teams.  Filipowski and Roach are banging up again so Proctor and McCain stepped up.  This team could be very dangerous if, and its a big if, everybody gets healthy by March.

Friday Game...

 There's one game of note tonight, Wisconsin at Michigan State.  Wisconsin just snuck by Minnesota but is currently a 2 seed.  Michigan State is currently a 7 but their resume isn't all that impressive due to early season woes.  This would go a long way to a bid in March.
